MY BACKGROUND

My expertise is rooted in an intertwining of personal experience and academic and professional training. I have been a member of and mentor in the BDSM and LGBTQ communities for over two decades. I hold four postgraduate degrees—masters in psychology, social work, and human sexuality education, and a doctorate in clinical sexology.

I work with people across the spectrum of power role identification, gender expression, and sexual orientation, as well as those who are unsure of or evolving through identifications. My therapeutic approach is person-centred, holistic, and tailored to fit each collaboration.

My work as a therapist and educator is my primary focus, and I am actively involved in sex positive research and outreach as well: I supervise graduate students and early career therapists; I offer consultations to seasoned psychotherapists and sex therapists; I lecture at universities and conferences; I publish in academic journals; I conduct professional trainings on gender diversity and non-mainstream sexuality; and I am regularly quoted in the press as an identity and sexuality expert.

I believe that encouraging empathy and tolerance in all communities is equally as important as cultivating self-acceptance and -actualization in all individuals, no matter how they identify or live their lives. For consultations or interviews, please email me directly at info@KinkDoctor.com.
